West Platte Elementary students took part in Missouri Day activities Oct. 21, learning about the state through hands-on stations led by teachers and community members. Students square-danced, listened to a presentation on Missouri history and tried old-fashioned recess games. Other stations covered Missouri animals and crops, Weston artifacts, the Pony Express and historic photography. The school thanked Clay County Parks & Rec, Miller Farms, Historic Weston Orchard & Vineyard, Weston Historical Museum, Joe Fedrizzi and West Platte FFA for helping make the day informative and enjoyable.
