The North Platte High School and junior high choirs performed three patriotic songs each Oct. 21 at Dearborn Christian Church. The concert prepared students for North Platte’s Veterans Day program on Nov. 11.
An overflow crowd attended the performance and applauded after each song. Church hosts served cookies to students and visitors after the concert.
The Veterans Day program will be held at the high school. Lunch for veterans will be served at 11 a.m., followed by a band performance. The program will include recognition of each branch of service and a guest speaker, Sgt. Barry Adwell, director of the Savannah R-3 School District’s ROTC program. Elementary and intermediate students also will perform and be bused to the high school. The public is invited.
