Crossroads Chapel met to worship on a warm and beautiful day. We experienced some hot stormy days last week so we praise Him for the change in weather.
The Adult Bible study focused on “A Servant’s Heart” from 1 Corinthians 3:5-15. These scriptures are a letter to the church in Corinthian from Paul who had helped them establish their church several years prior. He wanted them to remember that their foundation is Jesus Christ and He has a lasting implant on their lives and ours.
Pastor Mark Henkel’s message was “Door Keepers or Tent Dwellers?” from Psalm 84:1-12. He began the service by singing “Child Why do you Wander?”. There are times when we find ourselves wandering without a destination. He described a Door Keeper as one who serves others humbly. A Tent Dweller is comfortable with their own success and puts priority on their personal pride. A Door Keeper’s priorities are looking forward to his eternal home with God. The Tent Dweller is living for temporal and personal comfort. The Door Keeper’s motivation to serve God and meet Him. The Tent Dweller has few priorities and no motivation to even care about others; they only desire their personal comfort.
