Butch Norris
Obituaries·Tuesday, September 29, 2026
Elmer “Butch” Norris, 77, was called home to his Lord on Saturday, September 19, 2026. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Cathy; their daughter, Tiffany; son-in-law, Greg; treasured grandson, Oliver; and brother, Delbert Conard (along with his wife, Avis).
Butch was born to Ruby Conard and Elmer Norris in 1949 and was a lifelong resident of Weston, Missouri. After graduating from West Platte High School, he worked as an automotive mechanic for nearly 60 years, most of those in partnership with Gary Madget at Ferrel Auto Service in Platte City, Missouri.
His greatest pride was his family. He was a devoted husband and father who cherished time with those he loved. He sacrificed comfort, peace, and leisure to give his daughter a world of opportunity, and he never missed the chance to show up and cheer for her in any moment that mattered.
Butch’s word was his bond. He was a man of deep honor and unwavering integrity who never made a promise he could not keep. When he said he would do something, he was all in. He was quietly generous in ways most never saw: cash handed to a stranger, a fender bender ignored, or kind words shared with the right person at the right time to ensure someone else was seen in the most favorable light. He never sought recognition. He simply believed that if you had the ability to help someone, you did.
Above all, Butch loved fully. His greatest, fiercest love was his wife, Cathy. For 59 years, they were rarely seen apart. He was happy simply being beside her. Together, they built a life rooted in family, faith, hard work, and an abiding commitment to one another.
Butch lived by a few simple principles: do your best, tell the truth, keep your word, and love abundantly. He leaves behind a legacy not of grand gestures or recognition, but of showing up, keeping his word, helping when he could, faithful prayer, and wholeheartedly loving those around him.
