Volleyball
West Platte defeated Cameron 3-1 on Sept. 15. The Bluejays swept North Platte 3-0 on Sept. 17, while the junior varsity team won 2-0.
Softball
West Platte defeated Jefferson 15-5 on Sept. 15 before falling to Lathrop 14-12 on Sept. 17.
The Bluejays went 1-3 in the Park Hill South Tournament on Sept. 18-19. West Platte defeated Central of St. Joseph 3-0, then lost to Park Hill South 6-2, Fort Osage 4-1 and Harrisburg 8-2.
Cross-country
West Platte competed in the St. Pius X Invitational on Sept. 19 in Kansas City.
The West Platte boys won the team championship with 25 points, led by Charles Trease, who won the 5-kilometer race in 17 minutes, 52.5 seconds. Collin Frederick placed second in 18:40.2.
Other West Platte boys finishers were Samuel Miller, sixth, 19:46.4; Benjamin Pendergast, eighth, 19:56.6; Michael Deffet, 11th, 20:53.3; Zachary Carletti, 13th, 21:14.7; Lochlan Bailey, 14th, 21:15.5; Camden Frederick, 15th, 21:17.7; Declan Mullen, 17th, 21:55.5; Noah Buller, 19th, 21:56.2; Carson Parrish, 34th, 25:05.8; and Benjamin Leffall, 51st, 28:59.6.
Charlotte Gillis led the West Platte girls, placing third in 23:49.4. Jersey O’Neal finished fifth in 24:43.9, Avery Reber placed seventh in 25:20.3, and Hana Hoover finished 11th in 27:07.5. West Platte did not record a girls team score because it had four finishers; five are required.
