It’s mid -August, time to remember summer fun and start planning for the fall changes. God is in it all, trust Him.
The Adult Bible study was “An Outward Focus” from 1 Corinthians 10:23-33. Bring glory to God by seeking to the welfare of others. No one is to seek his own good, but the good of the other person.
Pastor Mark Henkel’s message was “How should we see Jesus Christ “ from Matthew 17:1-9. As we read our Bibles we see how the Scribes, Pharisees, Sadducees, and Herodians all tried to kill Jesus. They were the leaders of the Temple. They were scholars and rule followers of the law, wealthy, priest, or supporters of Rome. Each one wanted Jesus killed because he brought light to the deeds they were doing and the sins they were doing to the people. Now, how should we see Jesus? Is He the image of God, the almighty Son?
He lived a perfect life, overcame temptation, did no sins, touched and healed people, calmed fears, and raised the dead. This patient and loving man did it all for us and forgave those that killed Him.
