The summer sun was beating down as Crossroads Chapel met to worship this August Sunday but the air inside was cooled.
The Adult Bible study was “Humble Attitude” from 1 Corinthians 3:18- 4:7. The definition of humble is not proud, not boastful or modest.
We all need wisdom for our jobs, decisions, life choices, and family matters but many deceive themselves into thinking they are wise but God’s wisdom and guidance will lead us to the humility and faith in Him.
Pastor Mark Henkel’s sermon was “The Call of God – Time for action.” From Acts 16:10-15. Paul and Silas began their missionary journey through Europe. Paul‘s vision was to act with intent to share the message of Christ for the Glory of God. His vision lead him to Macedonia. When they arrived at Philippi (a military city of 10,000 people) they began speaking to a group of women at the riverside.
Lydia, a saleswoman from Thyatira, was the first to be confronted with the truth of Christ and opened her heart to accept and believe what Paul was preaching. She was baptized along with her household.
